About me
About me
Hi! I’m a young local guide from Rovaniemi, in the heart of Finnish Lapland. I’ve lived here my whole life, surrounded by snowy forests, frozen lakes, and quiet wilderness trails. Growing up in this environment taught me to appreciate the calmness, space, and beauty of the Arctic from an early age. Nature has been a constant part of my daily life, and exploring it became more than just a hobby — it shaped who I am.
Background & Skills
I’m currently a high school student, and I speak both Finnish and English fluently, which makes communication with guests smooth and relaxed. I’ve spent countless hours outdoors throughout all seasons, learning how nature behaves and how to move safely in changing conditions. My experience includes winter hiking, deep-snow travel, navigating through forests, lighting fires, and understanding the practical realities of cold-weather excursions. I’m also passionate about photography, especially capturing the quiet moods and soft light of Lapland’s nature.
Although I don’t have formal first aid training yet, I prepare thoroughly for every trip and always prioritize safety, planning, and clear communication with my guests.
My Guiding Philosophy
I focus on offering private, personal tours rather than large tourist-group experiences. My style is calm, patient, and respectful toward nature. I believe that the best moments in Lapland come when you slow down — when you hear the crunch of snow under your shoes, feel the dry Arctic air on your face, and notice how quiet the world becomes away from the city. My goal is never to rush but to create a space where guests can connect with the wilderness in a genuine and unhurried way.
Connection to lapland
Lapland means more to me than just beautiful scenery. For me, it represents silence, purity, and a kind of peace that you can’t find in many places. I grew up spending time at my family’s wilderness cabin deep in the forest, where there’s no noise, no traffic, and no distractions — just nature. Those experiences taught me to appreciate the cold, the stillness, and the unique atmosphere that makes this region so special. This personal connection is something I love sharing with visitors who want to experience the real Lapland.
What I want to offer
My goal as a guide is to create memorable, safe, and authentic experiences. Whether you’re seeing Lapland for the first time or returning to feel its magic again, I want you to experience the same calm beauty that I grew up with. I’ll guide you through landscapes I know deeply and care about, ensuring that your time here is comfortable, meaningful, and stress-free. Every tour is designed to be personal, respectful toward nature, and full of the quiet charm that makes Lapland unforgettable.
